Brumos Racing Leading the Way for “America Supports You” Movement
After meeting U.S. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs Allison Barber during the Brumos Porsche 250 weekend at Daytona International Speedway late last month, Brumos Racing owner Bob Snodgrass has been leading the charge in introducing the "America Supports You" program to the Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series.
The program puts the spotlight on what Americans are doing to support the military, and encourages them to thank the troops. To show the team's support, both Brumos Racing Daytona Prototypes, the No. 58 Red Bull Porsche Fabcar co-driven by Darren Law and David Donohue and the No. 59 Brumos Racing Porsche Fabcar co-driven by JC France and Hurley Haywood are carrying "America Supports You" decals.
The No. 73 Tafel Racing Porsche GT3 Cup co-driven by Jim Tafel and Andrew Davis is also carrying the decals at the encouragement of Brumos Racing, and the team is encouraging others to get involved as well.
"Brumos is honored to be the pioneer of this program for sports car racing," Snodgrass said. "Our hope is that other racing teams will embrace the program and its importance to the men and women serving in our armed forces."
